Not all kittens are born into warm homes or to careful human owners who seek a new warm home for them. Some kittens are born nearby where we, humans, live and they have to endure the harsh winters and depend on random acts of kindness by strangers. You can see it from their eyes — distrust, hardship, living one moment at a time. No sign of the blissful ignorance of the wild and hard outside world like you could see on a household cat whose only concern seems to be finding a good place to take a nap and ask more food and petting from you, their person. Still, they are not to blame for their short and fragile existence. I see the look on the kittens face and I wonder what would it say when it could?
